1972 - A300 Launch Brochure
This is a rarity, the launch brochure for the pioneering Airbus A300. The A300 was not only the worlds first widebody twin, but it was the opening salvo on what would become the worlds #1 commercial airliner manufacturer. Air France was the launch customer for the A300, beginning services between London and Paris in 1974. Orders barely trickled in until 1977, when Eastern's order of the A300 announced to the world Airbus was for real!

Hamburg, though not nearly as well known as its Toulouse conterpart, is Airbus' second final assembly facility. With Airbus being a Pan European consortium and Germany's Daimler Benz Aerospace being a major stockholder, Germany's status in the program netted the country a major Airbus facility. Besides all Airbus interiors being fitted here, full final assembly of the Airbus A-318, 319, and 321 occurs in Hamburg.
