Cubana Airlines 50th Anniversary brochure - 1979
This brochure is a good read not only for aviation history value, but for its blatant propoganda. Cubana was originally funded by and operated with assistance from Pan Am. That obviously changed with the fall of the American backed Batista regime and the rise of Castro in 1959.

Cubana - 1955
Cubana is the state owned airline of Cuba. With Castro's seizing of power in 1959, the airline dropped U.S. routes and equipment in favor of those from the Soviet Bloc. Currently, it has added A-320s and a DC-10.

Cubana - 1996
Cubana continues to soldier on with a mix of fleet of Russian and Western equipment such as a leased DC-10 and A320. The tourism industry has improved the fortunes of Cubana, but it will unquestionably change in years to come as freedom and democracy take hold in Cuba when Castro falls.
