Kern County Airport (Meadows Field) - Bakersfield, CA
Bakersfield is served by Continental, America West, and United Express. America West serves Las Vegas and Phoenix with RJs, while Continental offers surprisingly long-haul service to its Houston hub. It is a typical small commercial field in the shadow of a major hub. LAX is only about 120 miles away. The 1960s era terminal was replaced on February 27, 2006 by a new terminal, the William B. Thomas Terminal. BFL is served by Delta Express to Salt Lake, United Express (SkyWest) to Denver, LAX, and SFO; USAirways to Las Vegas and Phoenix; and by Mexicana to Guadalajra.

ExpressJet ERJ
ExpressJet Airlines, Inc. is a regional airline based in Houston, Texas, USA. It does a great deal of flying for as Continental Express for Continental Airlines from hubs at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Houston, Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, New Jersey and Hopkins International Airport, Cleveland, Ohio. In 2005 Continental decided to reduce ExpressJet's Continental Express flying so like ill-fated Altantic Coast Airlines, the airline elected to start its own branded airline using CRJs. ACA's Independence Air failed but Express Jet has a different model of flying underserved routes where there is far less competition and consequently higher fares. It began point-to-point flying in April 2007 under its own name from locations throughout the USA. Ontario, CA is the center of operations.
