HONG KONG – CHEP LAK KOK
Hong Kong’s Chep Lak Kok Airport opened on July 6, 1998. All services transferred over from the legendary Kai Tak by 1:00AM on July 5th with services commencing from CLK at 6:00AM. With two runways, convenient links into the city, and a breathtaking terminal, Hong Kong now has a world class international airport to compete with other player’s such as Singapore Changi, Seoul Inchon, and Shanghai Pudong. Passengers can even check-in in central Hong Kong and take a speedy train out to CLK. Built on a man made island 20 km from Central Hong Kong, the airport does lack the thrilling Runway 13 Checkerboard approach but once in the terminal you appreciate it’s virtues.
