Oakland International Airport
Oakland International Airport is one of three airports serving the Bay Area. For years, it was a second tier charter airport but with the high landing fees of SFO and the arrival of Southwest it has become a first tier facility. Oakland does tend to have fewer fog delays than SFO. All the majors serve Oakland as do niche carriers such as Aloha. Southwest occupies most of Terminal 2 which will be renovated, after the T1 expansion is complete. Terminal 1 is the home of all other carriers. Oasis Hong Kong began the airport's first regularly scheduled Asian service by June, 2007. OAK is most famous as the original headquarters of World Airways.
