Tallahassee Regional Airport
Tallahassee Regional Airport, serving the Florida State Capital, began operation as Tallahassee Municipal Airport with a dedication on April 23, 1961. On December 3, 1989, the city opened the existing $33 million, airline passenger terminal. On February 20, 2000 the passenger terminal was officially renamed the Ivan Munroe Terminal in honor of Tallahassee aviation pioneer Ivan Munroe. The airport is served by Northwest Airlink (Memphis), Continental Connection (Tampa, Orlando, Palm Beach, Houston), US Airways Express (Charlotte), and Delta Express (Ft Lauderdale, Orlando, Atlanta). Curiously, American Eagle and United Express aren't represented here. TLH boats 2 runways running perpundicular to each other with lengths of 6,000 and 8,000 feet. RJs are the largest regularly scheduled aircraft flying in.
