1996/97
Carnival Airlines was originally founded by the cruise ship company of the same name to transport passengers to the Port of Miami. Founded in 1989, Carnival became a relatively successful airline in it’s own right operating 737s, 727s, and A300 B-4s in a Florida centric route network that stretched to California, New York, and Puerto Rico. It was sold to Pan Am II in 1997, which itself ceased operations.
