Now strictly a charter / wet lease operation, World Airways had a decent scheduled service in the 1970s and 1980s. It moved it’s headquarters from Oakland to Washington D.C. in the early 90s, and then to Atlanta at the turn of the century.. The U.S. Military is one of its largest clients. The 747 and DC-8 fleet has given way to an MD-11 operation.
